Joel McCray

Went into the Navy two weeks after graduation and spent four years steaming around Europe and the Middle East. Spent two years thereafter working construction in Alaska and then, having sown my wild oats, finally went to school where I studied Russian. Spent a year between college and law school in Leningrad in what was still the Soviet Union. These days I represent physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice suits. I have two kids, Griffin (6) and Meredith (3) who keep me young and are making me old at the very same time!

I am married to the lovely and talented Anne Bentley McCray, who is also an attorney. We are hopeful that our children will be authors or artists or anarchists ... anything but lawyers.

Some teachers made an impression on me, mainly because I actually liked the subject matter and paid attention (Mr. Barthel and Dr. Adzick (sp?)).
Senorita Weiss did as well, but for different reasons. Mr. Pikey has earned several mentions on these pages and I met him a time or two (he had this crazy notion that my somewhat regular trips to Shaw Park during the school day were for some purpose other than taking in the fresh air and had the temerity to share his theory with my parents).
