Just learned about this web site recently from Mark Rambeau who went to the trouble of tracking me down, and told me about the 30 year reunion. I have looked at a number of the profiles from our class, and everyone seems to be doing well and has wonderful families. It is great to see that.
Like everyone else, a lot has happened with me in the past 30 years. Went to Mizzou, but quickly realized that the big state school was not for me, and transferred to Emory in Atlanta. There, I pursued a double major in economics and business. Graduated in the top of my class, and loved Atlanta so I decided to stay, and went to Emory Law School. Met my to-be wife Jennifer (an Atlanta native) the very first day of law school, and we have been pretty much inseparable ever since.
We have two children, Daniel (15) and Whitney (11). He is the sports kid and she is the actress. Both are great kids, and are more fun than I can stand.
In the Summer of 2000 I had quite a scare. I was hospitalized as a result of incredibly painful headaches. An MRI revealed that I had a brain tumor that had to be removed immediately though surgery. After surgery, I awoke to the news from my surgeon that the tumor was actually a nasty brain cyst that was masking as a tumor -- a highly remote but welcome possibility, and one with no long term effects.
On the career front, the practice of law, as hard as it can be sometimes, has treated me quite well. I am a principal shareholder with Greenberg Traurig -- no. St. Louis office, but we are just about everywhere else. I run a securities litigation practice group, and we represent most NY and regional investment banks and securities firms in litigation and regulatory matters throughout the U.S.
I do not get back to St. Louis all that much, but see that a number of you not only live there, but have kids who attend CHS. It is a great school, and I hope that your kids take advantage of all that it has to offer.
